Maria Mazzotta performed the pizzica music of South Italy on major stages and festivals worldwide for 15 years with Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino. Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from Italy’s Apulia region, she is now a leading figure in the European music scene. Moving effortlessly from Mediterranean traditions to Balkan melodies, her repertoire is shaped by deep research and a profound respect for the cultures that inform her sound.
